Hub Velo on the Road

New: Girona and Costa Brava 2020 trip!
We at Hub Velo love riding our bikes, we are lucky enough to have the ace county of Essex only a stones throw away. Along with our club, HVCC, we have criss-crossed its many lanes and byways over the years. So we now have set our sights to riding further a field, to places with big mountains and beautiful weather. In the Summer of 2019, we embarked on our first international trip with a party of twelve to deep into the French Alps. We took on some of the most spectacular climbs in the region and the hottest weather on record!

The trips include hassle free bike transfer, half board accommodation and guided rides. Your bikes will be dropped with Hub Vélo two days before along with a kit bag and be taken to the mountains. This frees up your travel as you only have to carry you hand luggage and don’t have to worry about lugging a bike box around! We will arrange airport transfers, and upon arrival your bike will be built, safety checked and ready to ride. In terms of length, the first trip followed a simple format of five days, four nights and five rides. We used the bank holiday weekend to reduce the number of days missed from work, so people flew out on the Thursday morning and returned late on Monday. You will have five riding days all guided with support vehicle following for mental, physical and mechanical support. The support will include as many bars, gels, shot blocks, isotonic tablets and recovery drink as you need (combination of Clif Bar and SiS used)! The rides are all pre-planned and GPX files will be available to everyone. Ranging from 60km to over 100km, the daily guided rides will accommodate all strengths of rider with the option to extend or shorten a ride! There is generally a Queen stage which we recommend doing even if it takes you all day!

The price is approx £800 inc half board stay, that includes you breakfast and evening meal, then for lunch you’ll grab lunch ‘out on the road’. The price will vary depending on the trip location, length and time of year, but includes everything mentioned above.

If you love riding your bike and want to venture out of your local limits with new people then this is the trip for you. There will be pain and suffering but that always provides for good stories and memories! For more information feel free to call, email or pop in and see us. Dates and locations of the Hub Velo Tour 2020 are yet to be released.
