CX World Champ Wout Van Aert Storms to Sensational Third Place in Strade Bianche on STEVENS Xenon

Even though our Strade Bianche di Essex ride was cancelled this weekend, we all hunkered down in the shop to watch everyone’s new favourite race of the year, the real Strade Bianche. An extra level of intrigue was added by one of our favourite riders riding his first ever World Tour Road race

Taking place on the beautiful white roads of Tuscany, with several gravel sectors, this has grown into a fascinating race – surely the only race of the year where a genuine Grand Tour GC contender would share the podium with a classics rider and the Cyclo-cross world champion!

With an amazing performance by Tjies Benoot to win, a nearly as impressive ride from Romain Bardet it is testament to the guts and determination that many of the headlines this year went to the rider in third place – the 23 year old Belgian World Cyclo-cross Champion Wout Van Aert.

Of course as the exclusive importer, distributor and retailer of STEVENS bikes in the UK, we were delighted to see WVA riding and smashing it on his STEVENS Xenon road bike.
If you’d like to find out more about STEVENS bikes, either CX, Road or City bikes, pop down the shop and have a chat.
